Three Bruins players have made it to the NHL All-star game. They would be Captain Zdeno Chara, Marc Savard, and goalie Tim Thomas. Thomas and Savard will be playing in their 2nd all-star game while Chara has played in 4 games.
Bruins star Patrice Bergeron suffered his 2nd concussion in 14 months during a previous game this week. Bergeron was later released from Massachusetts General Hospital. Bergeron who received a Grade 3 concussion last year after a hard hit off the boards was also released from MGH a day later. Bergeron was then missed the rest of the season. This injury wasn't as serious as the other. "Just one of those freak accidents where there was a collision," said Bruins head coach Claude Julien. He's feeling much, much better today. That's a big difference from what happened last year." Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli said that there is no timetable for his return to the ice. Chiarelli also said Bergeron will be placed on injured reserve which will not make him able to play till Saturdays game. More updates on the center's condition as they come.
Your Boston Bruins are off to a great start to their season. They have a current record of 8-3-3 and just keep on chugging. They are back to fighting machines and 3 Bruins are on the all-star ballot. There was a little disappointment that goalie Tim Thomas who has been great this season was left off the ballot. More updates on the Bruins season later.
